If you want to see dolphins (or whales) just take a walk round the headland at Noosa

Alright, well technically a Koala is a marsupial and although still a mammal bears are from the family Ursidae and Koalas are from the family Phascolarctidae. Here endeth the lesson.

Not somewhere posh but not camping either - here http://www.booking.com/hotel/au/janine-krauchi.en.html
Have you stayed there or know anyone who has?
One day will entail OH playing golf and hoping to head off to Eumundi markets. Heard there's great arty farty stuff and lovely food
The other days we'll just have a lazy time doing sod all, not working to any schedule. Is tin can bay far? Wouldn't mind seeing the dolphins

We had a lovely break at Tin Can Bay over New Year last year. The dolphins come it at around 7-8am each day, and there are a lot of kids queing up to see them.
They can buy a fish (for $5) to feed the dolphins, and it's far more 'relaxed' than Tangalooma.
We went to Rainbow Beach for the day, and thought it was a lovely spot, though the cafe menus were a bit 'ordinary'.
From memory the drive from TCB to RB is about 40mins.
Eumundi markets are very 'arty farty' and some of the stuff is really beautiful, but be aware that you might find the same thing at the West End, Eagle Farm, or Southbank markets for less $s. The food is wonderful, the parking's a nightmare so make sure you get there early.
Check too what day you're planning to go, because it's not always the 'whole' market.
Personally, I wouldn't waste over three hours drive there and back from Rainbow Beach. If you can't make it a 'break' in your journey home, why not give it a miss and take a detour to Maleny on your way back. Lot's of lovely shops there and some nice cafe/restuarants too.
