Rainbow beach?
#2
fairly rough surf, very small high st. campsite (rainbow waters) about 2 km out of town which allows campfires and dogs and doesn't have postage stamp pitches (pitch where you like). Sand blow nearby. Fishing available. Good for a weekend or so. Much more is ambitious.

I've booked a 3 day weekend next month. Thought that was long enough

Are Eumundi markets far away? I've been meaning to go for years and not got there

Not actually done them but I think they're close enough. Friends have done them for a day trip from hervey bay so from rainbow must be a cinch!

Small (IGA type) supermarkets with limited opening.
Only a couple of simple restaurants. Nothing flash that I remember. But to be honest didn't really look hard. There are a few takeaways (indian/chinese /pizza). You won't starve but it's not gourmet.

It's the kickoff point for awesome beach driving. Either head south along the beach to noosa (access rd just outside town a bit) or north along inskip point to the Fraser island ferry. If no 4wd i think they do day tours to Fraser these days.
Also wild dolphins show up at a spot in tin can bay near there.
Favorite pastime in the past for the locals was sitting in the pub and watching 4wd's coming up the beach from noosa sink in the surf while trying to get around the final headland - hence why the access road
pub full of pictures of those who didn't make it.

Have you stayed there or know anyone who has?

The other days we'll just have a lazy time doing sod all, not working to any schedule. Is tin can bay far? Wouldn't mind seeing the dolphins
