Default Quarantine etc

Had the removalist round the other day for inventory prep. He said garden stuff has to be scrupulously clean to get past the inspectors. Well I have cleaned the garden hose and pressure washer, got all the sawdust out of the sander and decided not to take most garden tools as they would have to be painted apparently.

Fair enough get all evidence of soil etc off, but does stuff have to be as good as new? How closely do they look?

you should be able to get away with most gardening tools provided you wash them in soapy water. They do not want to see any dirt on them. I wouldn't bother with a lawn mower (too hard to clean). Worst case you would have to get the stuff fumigated.
