Would be interested in finding out more as struggle to find much on schools here in Tas, maybe looking in the wrong places?

I don't think you have OP's in Tassy, but not sure what they are down there.

Qld School results published
For all you school statistic lovers out there, last years OP results have finaly been published.
http://www.qsa.qld.edu.au/downloads/...utcomes_08.pdf
My brief analysis:
After an embarassingly poor set of results last year where many were outclassed by state high schools, the private sector has redoubled its efforts to get good scores this year and try and put space between fee paying and free schools. (Whether this means standards have improved in private sector, or dropped in state sector, or just teaching methods have become more exam targetted rather education based we'll leave to another debate).
The usual contenders of Brisbanes state schools are up there in the top few again with a couple of new players in the top scorers (Alex Hills, Wavell Heights) - possibly indicating the changing demographic in those particular areas.
Top state school performers in Brisbane are:
85% Brisbane State High (South Brisbane)
80% Indooroopilly State High
76% Ferny Grove State High
75% Alex Hills State High
74% Kenmore State High
75% Wavell Heights State High
73% The Gap State High
73% Redcliffe State High
..On a personal note I'm disappointed to see The Gap drop to 7th after last years 1st place - but hey its still a good school and as long as it stays within range of the top of the list I've got a good chance of persuading "MumAgain" that its the one for our girls thus saving us $100k of fees, bankrupcy, divorce etc etc...!!

Re: QLD Schools OP Results 2008
2007
Faith Lutheran College
33% of OP-eligible students with OP 1 to 15
67% of students awarded Senior Certificates and awarded one or more VET qualification
(There were 18 yr 12 children in 2007: 12 went the VET route, and I assumed 6 went OP)
2008
Faith Lutheran College
58% of OP-eligible students with OP 1 to 15
42% of students awarded Senior Certificates and awarded one or more VET qualification
(There were 35 yr 12 chilrden in 2008 : 15 (42%) went the VET route, and I assume 20 (58%) went OP)
It appears that it may be OP or VET ? and maybe Faith is now moving towards to OP's. ?
Looking at 2007 for most Bayside Schools:
2007 Results
students awarded Senior Certificates with OP-eligibilty or awarded a VET qualification
100% Redlands College
100% Faith Lutheran College
99% Ormiston College
98% Sheldon College
98% Carmel College
89% Cleveland District State High School
87% Moreton Bay Girls
86% Alexandra Hills State High School
79% Victoria Point State High School
But I think you need a degree to work out these results, and I don't have one
I am emailing the Head to get clarification...
The rankings for OP appear to be only relevent for children going on to UNI.
A school may concentrate on developing children for work (trades etc) rather than Uni, and could in theory get 0% for OP's but still be a good school.
Example: in 2007, Ormiston College had 0% for VET results, whilst Faith had 67%. Again in 2008, Ormiston is at 0%.
Analizing all the results, I would say that Sheldon, Ormiston and Redlands Colleges come out top for this area.
