The main cause of the conflict is that dozy little ****wit they have employed as CEO.

Hi Jen
I'd be Very surprised if Qantas refund you unless the flight is cancelled, when they are obliged to. They are unlikely to be keen to lose even more money at the moment! On another note, they charge extortionate rates for being over the baggage allowance, as I learned in April when I was charged almost £300 for being about 7 kilos over. Beware! Liv. And in defence of Qantas they charge more or less the same as other airlines for excess baggage..........the allowance on most airlines ex Australia is 23kgs (except for the America's), but Emirates allow 30kgs, so if you had flown Emirates you would have been within your weight limit....... |

It's one way of making sure you never crash I guess. |

Not much... and he's shown his level of competency by reaching this point.
He's gone about a pretty transparent approach to offshoring the company, whilst paying himself a big 71% payrise. Now his strategy is shown to not be working, he's spitting his dummy and saying he's going to kill the company. If the shareholders have any sense he'll be out by midnight. You don't pay money for that standard of 'management'. |

Surprisingly the remuneration got 96% support at the AGM.

Re: Qantas...hmmmm....
Good for you Joycie - embarrass our socialist, union-run government on CHOGM weekend and hopefully hurt the socialist unions that are destroying your business.
Go for it! |

Frankly the little irish twit is an obvious liability. |
Re: Qantas...hmmmm....
I confess I have not been following the situation in any detail at all, but isn't it militant workers fault that all flights are grounded rather than the CEO's?
Genuine question BTW, I am not saying this is the case it just seemed more likely than a CEO that would destroy an airline. I will go and read about it at properly shortly. |

Go for it! First rule of CEOship, don't damage the company. That is exactly what he is in the process of doing. |

And the reason for those strikes is a hamfisted attempt to offshore the entire company. So obvious that the union noticed. It's all down to Joyce, he's a really bad loser. |

Nope, the twerp has unilaterally grounded the flights. He's trying to blame the unions, but frankly it doesn't wash when all he's seen are short term strikes.
