Would be 80 days on me own in Victoria, then 12 - 18 months in NSW somewhere!

I phoned the hotline number earlier and they said family can relocate, even get a job with them! ... but only recently see the 6 year tie in ... and the idea's gone flat now ...

Yes sir! ... Sargent major Sir!!! ...
6 years is a long time! 80 days is a long time for you to be without Nic too, you remember how you struggled when you had to go back to the UK

Would have been a good idea if not for the 6 year tie in though...

Lol, ooh you sound convincing with your Yes Sir bit though

I know I know ...

EVERY day I consider goin back again for 3 months or so to make some money, but get home and Nic reminds me what I was like and how much I enjoyed it last time ...

I only want a half enjoyable job with half decent pay ... am I REALLY asking too much? ...

As I say once I realised I had to be a PR to do an apprenticeship I thought once I was, I'd be sorted! ... but after phoning around they're like gold dust and it's just not gonna happen! ...

"would you like fries with your order madam?"

Ahhhhh! ... sorted! ...

Well I'm kinda doin chippy work now, that and a bit of cabinet making, but thrown in a fair bit of sweeping floors and emptying bins ... I was emptying bins in a joinery workshop 23 years ago! ... come on far eh! ...

I want to do the electrical trade as altho it will have it's physical aspects, it's one of the lesser in the physical dept as I have my crappy weak arms and in current role they're a hindrance ... Gotta get them sorted at last now a PR but that's gonna be quite an operation as I need bone grafting.

Awww bollox! ... :curse:

Maybe like the bloke at work says I need an admin / IT job! ... :curse:

What a pain apprenticeships are rare - is this just in QLD or everywhere??? Is there a chance another State is easier?? (I know you would have done your research though.) Shame about the army - what was that song - 'We're in the army now...' What about the airforce - electrical engineer etc??? Lots of bases in NSW....

Chef is good though! What about landscape gardener???

I still think you should post your whole story - it doesn't have to have an end - just keep posting as you go along.

can you get on a sparky course for the next intake? Is it once a year? I know it's putting stuff off again but you could get your name down for the next course and just carry on as you are until then?

Yeah I need an admin job - one that's school hours and lets me have the holidays off so I can look after the boy I'm not hopeful

Eek bone grafts!

Well the TAFE is full up with the pre apprenticeships (will need one before anyone will take you on as an apprentice) and that's up till October. Then they're taking names for a cancellation waiting list, which has 20+ names on it already! ...

10 week full time course without pay, so not even convinced we can get by on NO pay what with Nic's situ ...

Well you should've spoke to Nic about part time admin jobs ... they just don't pop up either, and every one will have 50+ applicants inc a lot of Aussies, and you know who's gonna get it! ...

Yeah broke both arms bad in 2003. Have given me jip since and had em x-rayed a few months back and still not knitted together so gotta take some bone off me ass and fix em! I've refrained cos the PR application, but I spose now time to bite the bullet and get sorted ...

Yeah once I learnt that I almost threw the towel on the idea, but I spose once Nic is back to work we could save up some money to suppliment her wages for the 10 weeks, but I don't think I'm gonna even get a place so prob stops there! ...

Yeah I wish you the best of luck finding that job!

Yeah gonna go see GP soon and get referred for some ole bone person to have a look.

Yeah Air Con is something I've considered in the past, will look further on that one and have a friend who works in the field and am hoping to pick their brains about it.

No, probably not you.

Many people on here spell the words definite and definitely wrongly so I was surprised to see that the immigration department got the word indefinitely correctly.

You and your family have worked so hard for these PR visas to come through. You really deserve them. Enjoy you new life and we look forward to hearing your goods news on getting citizenship next!
