Postal Address
We are arriving in Melbourne on Dec 18th but will be going to a hotel first whilst then seeking a rental property for a few months then hopefully we will have found a permanent place to live. With all this moving around it would be difficult to get our mail, does Victoria have the equivalent to a PO box number here in the UK that we can set up? and if so how would we go about doing it ?
many thanks, we're looking forward to the sunshine from the cold wet weather here in Essex.

Re: Postal Address
Steve,
Initially, you might want to look into Poste Restante facilities at the main Australia Post office on the corner of Bourke Street and Elizabeth Street in Melbourne's CBD. I believe you simply arrange for post to be sent on to you, c/- Poste Restante, GPO Melbourne, VIC 3000, Australia. You then turn up with ID to collect your post.
The telephone number for Australia Post in Australia is 131320. I'm not sure whether you can dial into this from overseas - try 00 61 131320 from the UK.
You can also obtain a PO Box at most main post offices, but I think you'll need to be physically in Australia to set this up.
Another option, but maybe more pricey, is MailBoxes Etc. Here's a link to their outlets in Victoria:

Hope this helps and best regards.
