Possible move to Sydney
Hi there, fairly new to this site and just looking for some info if possible. Husband and I are currently living in Fremantle WA but husband might be getting a promotion at work which would mean us relocating to Sydney. Can anyone suggest nice suburbs or areas in/around Sydney that aren't insanely expensive? We need a house with a backgarden as we have a dog. Any help/advice appreciated
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Possible move to Sydney
unless his office has a free car park he would be mad to drive haymarket is near central station
trains in Oz are a bit slow but in Sydney they are much cheaper than the UK.
Parking in central Sydney can be expensive.
most of the inner suburbs will meet your needs but traffic is bad over the bridge at rush hours so keep that in mind.
the inner west is cheaper but hasnt got so many beaches. a lot of beaches are dog free so you may have a problem with that
Sydney CBD is dead at weekends but the quayside and darling harbour are buzzing as is the rocks and kings cross but don't go to kings cross late at night or live there unless you dont mind red light areas and people throwing up in your bushes.
I hope that helps a bit your best bet is to get a map of sydney or download city streets and look at that
sutherland , brighton le sands areas are all a bit far out for you and i think avalon is more than a half hour drive away you are probably better off looking at bronte clovelly coogee way but all inner sydney is very expensive expect london prices and you won't be far out

Thanks for your help. He will probably just use public transport if parking is so difficult. I have had a look on a real estate website at Coogee, Glebe and Annandale just to see what you are getting for your money there. Think I will have to keep looking though. Anyway thanks again, much appreciated!

Leaving Fremantle ? The town with the best pub in Australia ? You can't get Little Creatures on tap very easily in Sydney

Actually Little Creatures is pretty common around Darling Harbor at least. We chose to move to Pyrmont for work in the CBD - check it out - he could walk to work like I do.
