Portable DVD players

Portable DVD players
Does anyone know if portable DVD players are allowed on flights? An idea of mine to keep little one, who will be four years old, entertained on the mammoth flight to Kuala Lumpar / Singapore and the shorter one to Melbourne, is to buy a portable DVD player along with a few of his favourite programmes. Although entertainment is available, by taking our own DVD's at least we know there will be something for him to watch and keep him entertained.

Hi, Yes portables DVD's are allowed, from my recent experience with UNITED we were so pleased we had ours as the films were awful and complete repeates from SFO to SYD and on the way home both parts of the journey the same as going out!
