If someone can't shoot you with a gun they will shoot you with a knife, if you take away the knife they will shoot you with a truncheon, and so on until people
are being shot in the streets with pillows and kittens.
So are you saying you believe we should be like the US?

I'll take the risk of pillow and kitten wounds.

exactly, it's a ridiculous argument that we should not give up guns because it would not stop violence.

Although, to be fair, kittens do have sharp claws and you could have someone's eye out with the corner of a pillow.

I'd rather take my chances with the knife I think.
It's easier to kill lots of people in one go with a gun, plus you're more likely to actually kill them.

14 innocent people were murdered by the british state in my hometown of Derry city in 1972 on whats known as 'bloody sunday',unfortunately the soldiers got to keep their guns and faced no charges.

It was bloody terrible....the poor people hiding under chairs in the cafe waiting to be murdered...we could all imagine ourselves in their shoes and dwell on the horror of it.

Thanks for the link, I have visited Port Arthur a few times. I think the area is beautiful. My Tassie friend took me the first time and I asked about the massacre after seeing a plaque on the wall with a staff members name on it. she just said we don't talk about it.
So thanks again for the link, I never knew he survived.

Unfortunately its down to lack of mental health care again that this happened and these sorts of things will continue to happen until people take notice of the signs, if we miss them its at our peril.

Have a look at the Foundation that was set up by the father of Alannah and Madeleine.

I remember the paper on the days after it happened the Sydney morning herald had each name on a bullet for the whole front page.

It was tragic...

I was reffering to the crazy people of this world who will do harm to others no matter what they lay their hands on .
