plastering is not the same as in uk.
you are 1 of 2 inside work or outside renders
all most on wet plastering like under coat and skim and you do not skim plasterboard. it is all paper tape and joint with plaster box's.
i was a plasterer in uk for 17 years and will never go back you will love it here.
have you passed tra yet?.

hiya,
my other half is a plasterer and we are heading the same as you.
We are in touch with a poster from here who's hubby is a plasterer in brissie at the moment and its good news - there is so much work they just dont have enough plasterers to go round!
Its a case of going onto a site and asking for work - her husband got work with one of the first sites he went on.
think he started on about $20 an hour then his rate went up when he proved his worth
not sure what the 'going rate' generally is, but she said his boss has enough work for years to come......

have you done your tra yet?

sue
