POMS IN PARADISE

Did anyone see it tonight on ITV?
That was my life in the Gold Coast this time last year. If anyone wants one piece of advice give the move time and dont rush back to the UK like I did. Big mistake and full of regrets.

Poms in Paradise? Where the hell do they get their titles from? Reality tv has a lot to answer for in brainwashing the poor unsuspecting Jo Blow. Dont they realize that the GC is a bit of a joke for the bulk of Australians? Sort of along the lines of going to Blackpool for your holidays. (I know a lot of people live happily on the GC but the rest of Aus views them with some amusement - retirement villages, schoolies week and tourists!)

There are also a lot of people that happily live in Blackpool and probably dont like to be looked atg with amusement, different strokes for different folks. I watched it and having lived in Oz felt it was a nice representation of life.

Its a new series following families who have actually settled in OZ. Dont think the series is just showing the Gold Coast. You cant argue with the great places in that area but I do agree with you it was part of the problem I returned as it wasnt entirely right for me. To busy and too many tourists

Love to go back. The wife didnt want to leave but I booked the flights and was a tad selfish. Unfortunately i have 2 kids who we would have to drag back kicking and screaming.
