- Going back home in just under 2 years' time, when my visa expires.

one last thing rob
each state has its own licencing system ( even to the point that a QLD licenced plumber cannot work in say NSW without a NSW licence )
so you will have to check with the states safety office for the area you intend to live
hope this helps mate

I'm on the verge of giving up any hope of ever doing plumbing a gain.
Anyone can do plumbing in the UK just not gas plumbing.
I never did get my corgi so I'm not sure if I'll be able to work here as all jobs have involved gas.
I won't be able to get a gas qualification here as to get one I'd need four years relevent experience in the UK

So the best thing to do, is leave my plumbing tools at home!! and try something new, like swimming with sharks, or do you need a license for that??

Just to go back to the part p regulation. It only applies to new domestic installations, which is why you're getting diyers and kitchen fitters doing the course. I agree that its ludicrus.
I'm just glad I refitted my bathroom last year, before the new regs come into force.
By the way, does anybody know about licensing for refrigeration/ air-con engineers. Do the above links cover this trade?
