Default police clearance- can anyone help?

Hi all,

I applied to the west mercia for a police clearance and paid a £10 each fee. It has come back today and it is just a letter, which states no info held on computer.

Is this all it is, or have i got mixed up, and should have applied to the criminal records bureau and received an actual certificate.

Hope someone can help, cheers

Don't panic, you've done it right, and that is the right bit of paper.

The original has to be sent off to DIMIA, but I suggest you keep a copy for yourself.

Thanks pollyana,

Thats a relief

Ive just looked at it again, only hubbies has come back, and there isn't even his date of birth on it. Just seems a bit basic.

Hiya,
Yes it is very basic - and its not clear that its actually the vital bit of paper. Often checks with more than one surname take longer (I assume you had a maiden name on the form as well), but hopefully yours won't be too far behind.
Good luck with the rest of the process!

brummie bird,
I can see that you are impressed with the letter for £10.

But it is the wright bit of paper. Honest.
