police checks for Aus?
Received letter from london requesting police checks, I have the results from the data protection act 1988.
However they stste if you have resided in England and Scotland you need clearence from both countries.
I have phoned the police station who did not know anything about this, is there anyone out there who has lived in both countries and could shed some light on how to get clearence from Scotland or what they did in their application.
it states at the bottm of the letter that I need a police certificate from the following countries UK, rather confused please help if you can.
many thanks
Stephen

what about your medicals? hasn't london requested medicals simultaneously? (I think its rather unusual for only police clearance to be asked first).......anyone else had similar approach?

Stephen,
If I recall correctly, you can use the same form to apply for both. There is a
section for Scotland (via the Scottish Criminal Records Section in Glasgow) and a
section for England (via the PNC). So fill out both sections and hand it in to the
Police Station.
You should get the Scottish one back in a week or so - the English one took 4-5
weeks for me.
It's been over a year since I done it, so apologies if the process has changed since
then or I've got some info wrong!
Cheers,
Chris
