Plumbing in perth...
I have been trying to find out about obtaining a plumbers licence before I get to Perth I have just received an e-mail from the Plumbers Licensing Board in W.A stating that qualifications need to be assessed by ANZRA which are recognising most U.K cases as “provisional but W.A doesn’t recognise a provisional licence so I would need to undertake an 8hr Trade test and if successful you get a trade persons licence but still can only work under the general direction and control of a licensed Plumber.
Has any one done this or going to do this and has more of an idea than me? Or know anyone who has got around this problem? As it seems silly that I have had my skills assessed by the T.R.A but they are not good enough to gain a licence unless I retrain in W.A. I don’t love Plumbing that much…
Any help greatly appreciated.
Chris.

Here is an extract from an email I received from the plumbing institute of Victoria.
The Plumbing Industry Commission of Victoria has an agreement with CORGI.
All candidates that have achieved a pass in the corgi national accredited
certification scheme will be accredited in the elements they have passed.
The elements that have not achieved a pass must be assessed.
Additional assessments that both organisations require to prove competence
in are;
Legislative Reguirements Standards and Regulations S. I. Units. O H / S
requirements.
These are different in each country.
You may apply for licence or registration with your City and Guilds
qualification, but if you not obtained a pass in your ACS
you would be assessed in all elements of Gasfitting.
Might be worth having a few months in Victoria before going on elsewhere as State reciprocal agreements exist
