Question pls help re. passport question

Well I've had 'the call' and am going back round about the 18th dec until the end of Jan. My prob is I've just looked on sons passport and it runs out on 11th january - searching on here I've noticed that some countries wont let you fly out unless theres six months left on the passport (Singapore) I was going to renew whilst over in the UK. Considering Singapore will most prob be the connecting flight will this be do-able?? if not does anyone know of the countries we would be able to fly out of? it will be a Perth - Heathrow route.
Thanks
S xx

I am always amazed by how many people lose track of things like passport expiry dates.

Sorry about getting the call Streaks. I had one last year at this time so can fully sympathise.

Take care of yourself and enjoy your time back with your family.

Pretty much every country that could be a transit stop (except Japan) will not accept a passport that has only one month left.

The options are:

- get a new British passport (and given the documented hassles with the British High Commission, that may not be possible); or

- get written confirmation from the airline that the passport will be accepted for airside transit; or

- fly the other way around, via Canada or the USA, which do accept British passports with less than 6 months.
