Default Phone Cards

Thought i would give the phone cards another try for ringing the UK, so got one from www.ozprepaidcards.com.au
Didnt know that each time i use it i am being charged by telstra too, sometimes as much as $2 for each call. $35 extra on the phone bill. can anyone recommend a phone card that once you have paid for the card there are no other charges and is actually cheaper than using my telstra land line

Thanks

Marie

Try

www.phonecardselector.com.au

We went for the "Day & Night" which has no connection fee and is 2c per minute to the UK.
Telstra, or whoever, will still charge for a LOCAL call (this will happen on all calling cards I think), but this has been a matter of cents per call on our bills...

Good luck!

We also have been using www.phonecardselector "Day and Night" Card for the past 15 months, and its great. Never any problems. easy to set up, and get new cards within a few hours on line.

Default Re: Phone Cards

Didn't realise that my phone provider would charge too and if i had, would have thought it would have only been a few cents, but read through all the conditions of the phone card and it seems the one i picked hasnt got a local access number and i have been charged STD rates each time i have used it.
Seems as though we should be getting 50 local calls free with the telstra reward options (according to the booklet) as we have landline and bigpond, but looks like i have to ask for this reward and not automatically given. so, thought i would ring them, voice activated and after a few attempts, finally told to ring back during office hours. I'm at work during office hours all week apart from friday afternoon, so i will have to wait til then as no access to landline through the day. They certainly dont make it easy to contact them. If only my parents would get a computer, then i wouldnt need phone cards. just trying my best to keep the phone bill down and i think i make it worse.
So now i need to find one with a local access number. But i will look into skype too. I thought skype was to ring from one computer to another, but apparently not. All this technology does my head in at times
Thanks for all your replies, going for a few of these to unwind

Marie
