Try looking on www.domain.com see who's letting you have dogs in their places.

There will be people you may just have to look a bit harder or forget you have a dog at all, get the house, hide the dog on inspection days as it's only small and say what dog??? We did that post renting after buying a dog and finding husband had miss read no do as one dog.

We have 2 cats and didn't have any problems finding lots of available rentals on the Gold Coast. We found that out of all the available rentals each day about a third of them accepted "small pets" which included cats or small dogs.

Good luck.

We are in a rental and owner has agreed to allowing a small dog. Our rental agreement actually states no pets, but we thought we would sign up anyhow wait a couple of months and then ask...no probs.

If your coming to
perth you may struggle!
Rentals are hard to find and ones that accept pets are very few. My frind has two dogs and recently really struggled to find any where.

Have a look at this link for renting with pets, it also has a sample contract between you and the landlord. http://www.melbourne-petminders.com....-with-pets.htm In Victoria it is against the law for Landlords to ask for a rent specific bond, so be aware of this. I definately recommend getting references for your pets either from current landlords, dog training schools, vets and neighbours. I am asked on a regular basis to provide references for my clients to hand to their landlords.

Depends where you are going and how the market is. We had awful trouble with cats in Sydney. We had to discount apartments and not many LLs would accept them in houses.

As a landlord myself it would put your application towards the back of the pile if im being honest. As of late the number of applications has usually exceeded double figures and you can be very selective with who you put in.

True, and I did point this out to an agent at a totally trashed (allegedly by a one year old, although I suspect more by its parents) penthouse in Surry Hills, but it's a perception thing, and LLs can afford to be choosy here.

We have 3 cats and got a house, but we had to compromise on our requirements.
