This garage has been on the news before for selling the most expensive petrol in Kent. But people were still filling up  , especially as there is a garage not that far away at 94.9. |

Re: Petrol --- How much?
The price of petrol here is really out of hand. It has got to the point where I am walking most places and keeping the car for the longer journeys which we should all do anyway.
Has anybody else heard that the federal government are going to put a $1.50 cap on fuel or was I dreaming it? |

Re: Petrol --- How much?
I wrote this on another thread.
We are approaching the point, I believe when petrol in Australia in real terms is *approaching* that of the UK. This is based on what I was earning in the UK versus the average salary here. (to be fair I was earning slightly above average in the Uk, so there is still a way to go.) Diesel (and petrol) has gone up about 30-40pc in 2 years. Badge PS In real terms, and I've used average salaries for UK and Australia, for Petrol to be the same price, it would have to be about AUS2 for it to be the same price as in the UK. Badge |

P.S I didn't type it, so don't shout at me for the caps! Subject: FW: 22 Sept. No petrol day IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES. THEREFORE THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 22nd HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT UP THEIR ASSS" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY. THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO? REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 22nd A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" 22 Sept is a Thursday, the day the price starts creeping up for the w'end (in Sydney, anyway) so it's not my usual day for buying. I see no-one else has responded to your post - what does everyone else think out there? :) |
