Petrol... assuming you were asking for a price comparison in Aus... Personally I think the price difference is so great that it completely negates the consumption benefits of diesel...

Depends on which state you are in and what time of the day, which company, which individual servo and in which suburb you look at the sign, ie it varies. Very ing. In Qld there is no state excise of 8 cents/lt like in other states for fuel. Yesterday prices $1.00/lt unleaded- diesel and premium unleaded add at least 12-20 cents/lt(less if you have fuel voucher shopperdockets of 4cents/lt on all fuel).

In Perth right now the cheapest diesel is 119 & the cheapest petrol is 110, so 9c difference.
I have 2 diesel vehicles & will never buy a petrol car again (unless it's a sports car!).

off topic but did you see the sports cars in the foyer of the QV1 building this week. I went into CBD last night to collect my pissed up husband and we sat in an Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati. They were amazing.

hi just thought id add my penny's worth, diesel cars should work out cheaper if you take advantage of bio diesel, (might not have it in oz yet, but google it and check it out) bout 20p a litre cheaper in the uk.

failing that you'll find on those searches that diesel cars were designed to run on nut oil (before anyone starts not those type of nuts) i personally and several of my workmates run our cars on veggie oil,and other cheap substitutes about 1 part diesel 3 part oil, none of us are brave enough to go all out oil at the mo.

it was on one of the car shows on telly in the uk(dont remember which one) last month and he proved it on tv.

by the way one thing to add once you've used it for a couple of months its advised that you change your fuel filter, not sure of the exact reason something to do with oil being cleaner to burn than diesel.

last but not least be prepared for everybody to take the piss cause your car exhaust fumes will smell like a chippy, but you'll be paying half of what they do to use it,(i work out about 55p a litre now).
sorry bout the long post but if one of you starts to use it it'll be worth it.
