Default Petrol

We just paid $1.40ltr up at shell on the ocean keys centre, we then drove up marmion avenue to the island and it was $1.30
Why such a price difference, and how do they justify it.
Next time we will get fuel well before we run so low, so we can shop around.

Yep that makes $5 difference to a tank.

Our cheapest is usually the Freedom servos and on Fridays.

If I have to fill up somewhere expensive then I only put in enough juice to get me to somewhere cheaper.

Keep up to date on when to buy at http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.../itemId/933944

For Perth:

which shows you why you might find 140 and 130 prices around today.

Use Fuelwatch. You can see the cheapest price in your area for today and tomorrow. Every service station in WA has to show their prices on there. Cheapest price NOR is 126.4.

Yes, check http://www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/fuelw...ages/home.jspx before you go out. We find that the cheapest day to fill up is usually Wednesday, then prices shoot up about 10-12¢ on Thursday, and stay high until Monday, drop slightly again on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Just watch the price shoot up before a public holiday and during school holidays - apparently the ACCC can't find any price fixing.

It helps if you shop now and again at Coles (discount at Shell) or Woolworths (discount at Caltex with Woolworths sign) or IGA (? Gull or Peak?), to save a bit of money filling up on Wednesday. You will get to know which petrol station tends to be the cheapest.

Another vote for Fuelwatch. Usually around our way Woolworths Caltex is cheapest particularly with the 4c off with the Woolies card.
