I'd be very grateful for some information on car costs. What do registration fees cost and do they vary by car/engine size or shire? What does the minimum compulsory insurance cost- is just third party possible? Is an initial or annual roadworthiness/MOT required on any models and if so what does it cost?

There are about nine separate charges! Reckon on about 10% on top of the listed price of a new car, but it does vary by weight of car, though not by shire. That should include everything. The compulsory insurance is just third party. There's no MOT equivalent.

Rego goes on Car size Min $360 a year , stamp duty on all new and private cars on each sale paid when you change ownership.
Get full Comp insurance or you could pay out big time , new cars add upto 15% for charges and no MOT but the police can put unroad worthy cars over the pit and make you do repairs.
