Default Perth and Brisbane Visit - Accommodation help

Hi all

My husband and I, along with our two children (aged 2.5 and 1) are coming out to have a look at Brisbane and Perth at the end of February. We are planning to spend a week in each place to help us decided whether or not to emigrate (as neither of us has been to Australia before).

I wondered if anyone could recommend any cheap/reasonably priced accommodation (feel free to PM me) in Brisbane and/or Perth? Our travel agent has been trying to push us into hotels at £100+ per night which is way above our budget.

We are ideally looking for hostels with family rooms or B&Bs. I'm asking on this forum as while I am aware of the hostel booking websites, I prefer personal recommendations from people who have actually stayed in places, particularly now we have two young children.

Any advice or pointers would be really helpful!

Many thanks

Carolyn

When I stayed in Brisbane, I stayed here

Toowong Villas, 9 Ascog Terrace | Toowong, Brisbane 4066, Australia

You might want to check out the apartment rates at Wotif:

www.wotif.com

We found staying in apartments, rather than hotels was much easier.

Milton Motel Apartments is extremely central. My husband stayed at Bowen Terrace Accommodation in New Farm and he said they have family rooms that are en suite as well.
