I don't actually dislike Perth. In itself it's a nice clean city. It's just it's location that's the problem. If you're happy to live in a city that's surrounded by desert and two thousand miles from anywhere else of reasonable size (and even then it's only Adelaide) then go for it. Personally, I like to feel that there's a little more over the horizon than a million hectares of nothingness.

Interstate rivalry is a fact of life in Australia.
A similar thing always happened when I lived in Scotland.
I lived near Glasgow, and people who lived in Edinburgh always slagged Glasgow off as being the scum of the earth etc.....
Glasgow people didn't really bother about this, & reckoned Edinburgh people had a chip on their shoulder for no apparent reason!
I personally love Edinburgh, and usd to go there a lot.
It's the same in Oz....... Everybody will fervently defend where they live.
I now live in Perth WA, having been in all the big cities in Australia except Adelaide, (& lots of smaller towns too).
I love Perth. Granted, it is isolated, but it has a great infrastructure genarated by the very fact that it is isolated!...
Living in Perth is a lifestyle I could only have ever dreamed about when I lived in Scotland!
We, on this forum, have put in a lot of time and effort to get to Australia. Some of us are happy living here. Some of us are happy living there........ Let's all be just happy that we are here in Oz!
There are shitloads of people who would crawl through a mile of barbed wire to live in Oz!
We are the lucky few who have the points etc. to do so...........
Who cares where we live...... (WA, NSW, VIC, SA, ACT, NT, QL, TAS,) As long as we are enjoying our new life.
