But say you lived in a suburb in joondaloop city (say ocean reef) you would be looking around 1/2 hour drive to subiaco, and around the same to perth CBD.

what requirements do you want in the area you want to live in (near the sea, near the city etc.)

Hope this helps

I live in Clarkson and it's not a 1/2 hour drive to Subi hospitals during rush hour. On a good day it's 1 hour from my door to King Edward, which is in the heart of Subi.

I work at PMH ( Child and Adolescent Mental Health ), so maybe worth giving them a thought as the main acute services are based there. There is a CAMHS in the Peel region, covering Mandurah but it's somewhat limited, often offering secondments rather than permanent positions. (If you're in Mandurah just bear in mind that it's a long trek to the city - at least an hour on a good day.)

Also be aware that CAMHS services over here are about 20years behind the UK

If you want any more info, then send a PM and I'll answer any questions.

All the best

Wouldnt even need to drive that far!!! There is a hospital in Joondalup!

She has to be at Mandurah station by 6.00am to get a parking space and the journey home is often delayed by as much a 2 hours, due to delays, broken down trains and kids throwing rocks at the trains :curse:

I'm sure it will improve, but she's so pissed off with it all that she feels it's not worth the wait.

Public transport outside the CBD is not all it's made out to be.

yeah but clarkson is north of joondaloop, if you live at the south end in areas like mulaloo, hillarys or ocean reef, youll be looking at around a 1/2 hour drive

plus in the train goes to clarkson doesn't it? so im sure youll be able to get to subiaco in less than an hour

Train ride from Clarkson to Subi is well over an hour when you factor in the change in trains and the walk from the station to the hospital.

And a very good one too . All the staff I met were so very friendly and helpful. I drove all the way up there because I needed an M.R.I scan and could get in quicker there. Plus, they bulk bill for it

I would echo that too. I had to take a trip to A&E a couple of weeks ago after an accident with a glass and they were excellent.

I visited Perth in Oct which was going into their spring & I was surprised how cold it was
We ended up buying fleeces whilst we were there to keep us warm!
We did have a few hot hot days but it does get chilly... Not something we were expecting
