We are also heading for Perth, probably Somerley, Ridgewood area, and we are hoping to go by the end of the year (as soon as the visa comes, we applied Feb). Would love to meet up for a chat:thumbsup: |
Re: Perth anyone?
:) Thats great, how soon do you expect your visa. Do you both have jobs to go to? Do you know that area or people over there? you seem certain about the part you wish to go to.

I have a friend in Somerley, she has been there just over 2 years. OH has a job to go to and that will be NOR, but we will look more when we get there, we haven't been before!! We have sold our house subject to contract and we will move into a rental until we go - we just can't wait, I'll be hop, skip and jumping through the airport when I get there:rofl: |

No flights booked yet  House has been on the market 2 weeks now only had 1 viewer and 1 time waster. Don't want to leave without selling my house I think renting it will cause to much hassle for me and who ever has to look after it for me. I'm from haddington about 15miles east of edinburgh regards the dooners |
Re: Perth anyone?
I love Scotland, esp the highlands. Yes its the hassle of renting i'm concerned about. Got to get to grips with all the facts and figures to check best option. Hope you find a buyer soon, selling seems to be taking a while at the moment. Keep posting how you get on with it. :)

Re: Perth anyone?
Hi guys
I've just applied for a visa to live in Perth, so fingers crossed. Will be moving out on my own. Very scary but loved it when I was there at the beginning of the year. |

Re: Perth anyone?
Hello,
We're heading to Perth as well! No idea when, just as soon as the visa comes through. We had hoped to go in September, then had to push it back a couple of months due to the long waiting times, we would like to be leaving Coventry before the end of the year but who knows!?!?!?! Can you tell the waiting is getting to me slightly......driving me crazy in fact! Neither of us have jobs, we sent CVs to agencies but they have told us that there isn't anything they can do without us having a date of when we will be out there....my boyfriend James spent time travelling around Australia a few years ago but didn't go to WA, and I have never been to Oz. Just going to take it a day at a time & see what happens! We had hoped to sell our house before we went but only had 1 viewing in 5 months so looks like we will just continue to rent it out once we leave  |
Re: Perth anyone?
Hi Mand-Jim
Your only down the road from me! well the A45 that is. :) Be interested to know how you get on with your plans, also with selling your house. Bit worried about mine, and the time it may take to sell, thats if I don't rent it out. In the current climate I may not get much choice! |

Hi Mand-Jim
Hoping to be there within next 8 months or so. Have already got visa, 136 skills visa. Just got to sort out house and job. Hoping it will be a permanent move, but trying to plan for all eventualities just in case I want to come back. |

I would love to be able to book our flights for early December but we have no control over the time frame for the visa so just need to sit tight and wait, we could be getting there around the same time as you! I've been looking on the recruitment websites but the agencies have told us that they can't really do anything to help until we have a firm idea of when we will be going. This is all so frustrating!!! |
Re: Perth anyone?
Hi Sunflower7,
I came out here on my own almost three years ago now. Never looked back. Hope you don't mind me being nosy, but what work do you do? I came out on a 136 visa originally, but did my citizenship on Australia day this year :-) Very best of luck to you, hope you find everything you're hoping to. J |

Re: Perth anyone?
We have just booked our flights for a validation trip 14th Nov, renting a 4x2 house with pool in Kinross for 3 weeks. Hopefully our house will sell before then & we can just go the one way.
