Didn't Perth dump the Telstra Australia Rally in order to host the Red Bull Air Race? That proved to be a bad idea.

I don't normally focus on image as I have such issues with my own but I agree, I would get those chopped off immediately!!!

The Australian F1-race used to be held every year in Adelaide but for some reason it was moved to Melbourne. Perhaps bigger cities are considered more interesting. Must be a similar thing with Perth that it is hard to attract any major events into the city as Sydney and Melbourne are considered more high profile.
