Just wondering how you have sorted out your pensions? Have you sought professional advice on it or sorted it out yourself?

i did learn the other day that we cant continue to pay into our UK based pension fund and has to be surrendered to another company! Aus bassed.
Still as confused as ever if i find out any more i will post

I used http://www.sherwin.com.au/contact.html (Brad) folowing a receommendation from some Ausssie colleagues and found them extremely useful but a tad slow on email - phone is best. Consolidated my 4 "frozen" UK pensions and 1 Irish pension along with my wife's frozen Irish pension into 1 superfund over here that we control ourselves + life ins and + disability cover etc.

What kind of pension is it? Personal, company etc?

There is never an obligation to transfer it to Australia. Sometimes it may be advisable to do so (eg for tax reasons), sometimes not. It depends on what kind of pension it is.

Its a personal pension pre stake holder, and to andrew wow your taking your retirement seriously
I have had some very bad from the CIS in the past Jeremy so another piece would not supprise me!
