Pension Medical
Does anyone have information on the taxation of British forces medical pensions?
I understand that money moved into Australia ofter a certain period is taxable, but what about tax free medical pensions?
Any info or links or even better personal experience would be great.

Hmm pensions are taxable, should this be 'benefit' or 'compensation' in oz, the latter differ tax-wise to pension income.
I'm on an income replacement policy (comparable private policy) and ... yup looks like these are taxable income too , but have not got there yet, so I cannot give you a definitive answer yet.
Ensure that your policy is valid outside the UK (it should be), but do check.
Try to contact/post Alan Collett (c/o GoMatilda) in the immigration forum or
http://ato.gov.au/individuals/ and dig round 'compensation'
Good luck, Gerry
