Default Paying to jump doctor queue

The greed is good GPs here are on a winner , I must ask though what happens if too many punters want this deal , next stop a raffle?

A MELBOURNE doctor is running a three-tiered billing system where those who can afford to pay more jump the queue.

"What if I pay?"
"hmmm,how about now then"

I speak as I find:-

NHS: Mum discovers lump. Gets Drs. Appt. same day. Referral to Oncology Dept. at hospital 4 days later. Confirmed Cancer. Another 4 days later is in for surgery. Excellent aftercare and follow-up.

Aus. Health Care (Public): Friend goes to Drs. with lump. (Has to wait over a week for appt. (public system). Still waiting (over 6 weeks later) to hear when hospital appointment MIGHT be...

Want a appointment at my NHS surgery and ring today, the first appointment is in 3 weeks time.

Went in there last week to ask about getting a copy of my medical records; firstly they wouldn't believe that I'm entitled to it, when they had checked, they said it would take a month to organise and they would be in touch!! Didn't know I had THAT big a medical file!

Two cases that happened fairly recently to my family :

NHS :

Nan - found lump - dignosed cancer - removed within 7 weeks

Medicare

Father in law - Found skin cancer - removed within 5 weeks.

There is very little difference in how the two systems perform. Thats from my experience anyway. Get ill here....go private and you will get treated quicker....same goes for oz. However, the standard heath care systems both perform well....
