Hi everyone

were looking to get our new house painted throughout including
4 bedrooms, kitchen , 2 living rooms, dining room, hall and stairs,
laundry, doors to each room and all skirting, ceilings, and door architraving.

Has anyone any idea how much a "reasonable" price is for this work
assuming two coats, and undercoat etc for gloss


Any rough idea's / guestimates appreciated !

My hubby is a painter and its impossible to give a quote without seeing the property. How big are the rooms ?

Best to have a few quotes from different companies and then make a decision on what you think is fair.

We have just budgeted $5,000 for this but not sure what the cost will be as finding it difficult to get a painter and decorator in - I have now started myself but not an easy job and it's not being done very well. Lucky I have started on the spare bedroom!

is their shortage of painter/decorators in victoria as we have just got our visa and a friend of min e now wants to emigrate..

we are getting some other quotes, just wondered if qnyone had
any 'ballpark' figures, even give or take a couple of grand ?

suppose (in metres)
lounges were 3.5 x 3.5
dining 2.5 x 3
bedrooms 3 x 3
kitchen 5 x 3
hall 1.8 x 2.5
laundry 1.5 x 2

All approximate !
