Default The Packers Are Coming

Hi
Any tips on what or not to do for when the removers come into my house in two weeks time to load my container. The removers say I don't have to do anything as they will remove and pack everything themselves!!!!!!!! OMG I am becoming scared that it is all starting to get closer and closer to our final departure date 1st September - here we come Australia.

Most important thing of all, all the stuff you need on the journey out (driving licenses, passports, tickets etc etc ) must be kept well out of their way, or in a room where they are not allowed to touch anything.

We had 3 packers all packing like demons, and before we realized, they had packed all our dirty garden tools, a windshield for a motorcycle which I told them wasnt to go, and a few other bits before we realized. We found the tools in time, and removed them, but the rest is on its was to Oz and the motorcycle is staying here without a windshield

there are plenty of migrants that realized they had shipped important documents in their container by mistake.dont join them

Our packers arrive next week...any more advice!!?? Is it best to stay well out the way, will they need someone there all the time? Also, we have a heavy pine, natural wardrobe. Will there be any problem taking this with us. Initially, we weren't going take it and have now decided to!

Being in Holland it might be a bit different (but I dont think so)

Keep them topped up with tea & coffie. Food & biscuits helps as well.

Keep out of the way, but not too much. You need to keep an eye on things just in case they pack wrong things etc.

The pine wardrode should be no problem. Its for indoor use, so its normally treated in some way. The big no-no's are whicker, xmas decs with cones, dried flowers seeds & berries. and not to forget mud and dirt on tools, bikes & outdoor stuff.

I'm sure I have read on here about jeyes fluid for cleaning. Is this just for tools, bikes etc or are you supposed to clean everything within an inch of its life? I'm really interested in this thread as we are also leaving 3rd sep so packers will be at ours soon.

our stuff left 2 weeks ago, so I cant help on the final outcome, but we cleaned everything well, with plenty of soap & water.

make sure under the saddle on mountain bikes are clean,

Put all valuable somewhere safe! A neighbours or friends. We have had posters lose jewellery etc at this stage, hope that it has been packed accidentially and not arrive on other side.

No, get it out of the house. Ask Mashy...she had folk in rooms rummaging where they were not allowed to be.....stuff went!:curse:

We put our stuff in the boot of the car in the garage til packers left but if we had had friends nearby, we would have taken it around to them.
