Hi J,

there is a big meet next Sat night in Southport Soccer Club and their is loads going thats the same age as you, have a look at the list in the meet ups section, or post this same question in the barbie as thats where most of us that live in Pac Pines post on and a lot of the posters have kids of those ages.

Lisa :)

Yep I know. What a bunch of thick kids we are breeding. Can't spell or put sentences together and have bugger all common sense. Soon Australia will be blighted by chav's the same way the UK is!

It's a worry or maybe I'm worried over something that doesn't really matter? I spoke to my son's english teacher in the UK and asked about spelling and putting capital letters on peoples names (and why he wasn't picking up on it), the teacher said I was worrying about nothing and it didn't matter about spelling etc!! If the teachers don't give a damn why should the kids?

Re: pacific pines

Hey give the lad a break, He has only asked to meet people his own age.

That is why my son is not coming out, At 19 There is no way he would go back to school and he knows it will be hard for him to make friends straight away, even with joining rugby or footy clubs it will still be hard for them.

It will take a little time but you will find good friends again.

My son is just going to work, there is frost all over the cars and had to de ice and saying how cold it is and winter is only just starting. He is in the construction industry and would be able to get a good job straight away, But at this time still doesnt want to come.
As he said if it was 2 years ago and he was at school there would be no problem.
I just wish my son was coming out with us, we leave 1st December.
All the best
skeaty

Its answers like this that put teenagers off this forum mate:confused:

its hard enough for them moving to Oz without people picking holes in them!

Please think before having a go at people who are struggling a bit, you never know how they might react;)

What a fantastically structured reply, obviously taught at one of the highest education establishments available, your grasp of the english language is a wonder to behold.

Thanks for the comment I always enjoy listening to a person of wit and intelligence.

Just wanted to add my bit and say well done to fitladj for making the effort to find other his own age through BE.

Those of us with kids his age know thats how they communicate = its their own shorthand that is used frequently when texting and using MSN etc.

I have graduated from university and I use txt language myself - it has it's uses.

Fairly new to BE and can't believe that people actually take the time and leave nasty responses - have they nothing better to do?

Anyway - good luck fitladj for plucking up the courage you will be fine given time.

Don't normally respond to inane responses like this but WTF the kid needs a break. Look at your own spelling and grammar before dissing someone else. Chav's should not have an apostrophe as it is not belonging to anyone so before you slag someone else off make sure you are 100% correct with your own typing.

What do you mean soon? I think they are way ahead in this regard, just call them different names, Bogons, ferrals etc. Personally I'd just call them Australians...................(dons hard hat.)

Mate, I am not a fan of 'txt talk' either, however..............horses for courses!

He is 18 years old, he is making an effort to communicate with people of the same age group > Go figure....that's how they type to one another - get over it!! It certainly doesn't make him illiterate or stupid. I suspect he's perfectly capable of formulating a sentence with the correct grammar and spelling!!

Idiots like that just like to come on and stir as they have sad little lives with nothing better to do, I feel sorry for his kids!!! the thing is he won't come back on and answer because he doesn't know how to reply what grown male answers by saying "whatever", this is the kind of stupid members we could do without on expats! next he will be answering "talk to the hand"

Get over yourselves will you? you all take this forum far too seriously. I really don't give a toss one way or another how people type or how they spell, the people looking at their Resumes will though and if no one corrects them when they make mistakes they'll look like total dickheads.

If, as parents you think it's good to use this 'txt' language then bloody good parents you are and they'll always be jobs at Maccas and KFC for your offspring.

You are even stupid enough to take my 'whatever' reply as serious.

They have become deluded as they haven't settled,

The English language evolves. Text speak now is fairly similar to the way Chaucer etc wrote. It was only one person replying like a twit. Don't worry about it people.

Here endeth the lesson for today:rofl: Sorry. Just had my first day at Uni - my brain is working on a higher level than it's used to

Not sure if you a referring to me but I'm not deluded and I have settled. Not sure where you are getting your information from but you need to get your facts straight before commenting on someone you know nothing about.

To the orginal poster "Good luck with meeting up with some people of your own age, there are plenty of things to do here, once you do. I am sure as you had the courage to post on here you have a lot going for you personallity wise, you will find mates easy enough !".. Good Luck buddy !

To Mr Kevin Bloomfield,

Mate give it a rest.....

You are not doing your company any favours by acting like this, considering you are advertising them in your signature, I would expect you to be a little less controversial.

By the way for an IT company your site loads extremely slow, if you want someone to design you a professional site let me know :)
