Hi there, please can someone clarify that the tax in OZ is 40% and if so after earning how much?

That would be one punishing tax regime. It is not a flat 40% but it goes up to around that at some point.

Someone on $500,000 would be paying a total of 40%.
$400,000 would be 38%
$300,000 would be 36%
$200,000 would be 32%
$100,000 would be 25%

Then in real life ...
$50,000 = 17%
$75,000 = 21%
