How on earth does someone judge others so quickly without ever speaking to them before?
Well Dorothy, you judged me on a different post , calling me rude. Practice what you preach!

I didn't judge you. Simply stated that bumping a post after 22 minutes in the middle of the night was rude. Not that you were.

You said "Next time give more that 20 mintues before you come back looking for advice. It's rude to expect those of us in Australia to be up at midnight to answer you"

I took that as aimed at me , so would anybody.

Not falling out with you , just saying you judged me , so no point in having a go at other people for doing the same.

I cannot decide as I have never visited either country before! There will be myself, my husband, my 2 boys (5 & 10yrs) & our 5 yr old Boxer dog. I think New Zealand has the edge but I would like some advice! I am a theatre nurse & my husband is an electrician-recently turned-postman.
We will be traveling down underfor a holiday-cum-research trip in April so need to decide fairly soon!
Please help us decide!!!! I'm confused!!!!

I would love to hear some good comments on this too. I have been reading a lot of the posts, but have rarely seen bad comments about Australia. Is Australia just so perfect or you guys are so overwhelmed by the good things that it overrun the bad points?

I spoke to a friend who now lives in Melbourne recently and she said that if you are away for a couple of weeks, your house is very likely to be broken in.....I know in the UK, if you are away, your house is also in the risk, we all know that. But she said "very likely" truly scares me. There is difference between "in the risk" and "very likely" in my dictionary. I mean what is the crime rate like in Oz?

I heard that the average salary in OZ is about $60,000, but the average house is 400,000 - 500,000! If that is true, how can normal people afford a house? Surely that is worse than the UK if you calculate the housing affordability, 8/9 times of the wage!

I am looking to move to Oz, but I want to make a sensible decision after weighing up the good and the bad. So guys, please shed us some light!
