Also, from the reports I've read; UBS, Macquarie & Deutsche all suggested the numbers were better than anticipated and the market responded with demand for AUD increasing thus pushing us to week highs.

I've been here for exactly 6 months today and work is plentiful, I'm earning more money than I ever did in the UK and everyone I meet is far more positive about things than back home.
The reason for the recent dip is unprecedented natural disasters.
The only problems I have is that it's finally started raining here and the football season is over!
Why are so many people on this forum so gloomy about things?

I wonder how many armed robberies have taken place this year in, let say Manchester, compared to the Gold Coast?

Personally I am concerned at Australia's prospects - only because I have a horrible feeling of deja vue having lived here so long. We were riding high once before and then came a mighty fall which made living here very tough for quite a long while. I dont much like being so dependent on the Chinese because they do NOT have Australia's best interests at heart and if they can get what they want, cheaper, elsewhere and with less political interference and uncertainty then they will be off quicker than you can say Chop Suey.
I think many Aussies are going to be caught napping unfortunately.

You're coming to Canberra? Hmm, you probably wont be so well off when you arrive here, housing is crazy expensive for starters.

Dunno, how many policemen have been shot in the head in Manchester, compared with the Gold Coast?
