Default Oz falling from high

looks like the dreaded recession is heading to oz. I feel sorry for the ones who have just come over hope they have return tickets.

what are you blabbering about?

(i assume youre talking about the numbers out for the march quarter which every economist around australia & the world anticipated would be rubbish thanks to floods and cyclones that affected core gdp export areas?)

It's not just the floods. It's the fact the economy is a bit of a one trick pony at the moment with most sectors stagnant at best. Retail, manufacturing, construction are all struggling.

The -1.2% was much worse than predicted.

Well personally I refuse to believe the published numbers. We're different in Australia.

I think that house prices will rise 20% this year, and 20% next year...

This is the lucky country ,if we need more prosperity we just dig a hole in the earth and flog the stuff to the chinese,no way will we go the way of the UK with there social problems, mass unemployment and property crash . currency devaluation etc it just aint going to be sorry
so if you are thinking of relocating hear get used to it
