right, this is really sad but.....when you work with sheep for a long time you can actually pair up lambs with ewes by eye because you just get to spot facial resemblence!Like humans, its no different, they have types of eyes, noses, and ears like their parents. They also have charicters and traits too.Amongst ten thousand sheep you get to know them by face....its weird(perhaps that should say i'm weird).
Aussie sheep look like aussie people compared to europeans....sun drenched, lathargic, and generally not very energetic.Must be all that heat and good living eh
I do think some peoples impressions of NZ are hilarious,no one is forcing you to live here, theres plenty of flights out and its a big wide world.Me,i just don't want to be anywhere else thanks and i have seen a great deal of the world.Lots of folks think differently i'm sure and good on them cos'it keeps my bit of life here nice and quiet.
Don't under-estimate the power of a sheepish face:

I suppose if you live at the north pole the UK weather is like paradise. We hardly had a summer this year but did have a mild autumn. Reminds me of a cartoon in the local paper. Guy comes into the house, its pouring with rain outside and says to his wife "well looks like summer is over". she replies "thank God for that".

The paradise Im headed for is the one that 400,000 other Kiwis are living in because they obviously think its better & sure aint flocking back.

My original question still stands. Why come to NZ when its quite obvious that Oz is a better place to live with better employment opportunities & pay, scenery thats just as good and as much sunshine as you want.
Is this thread some kind of validation for you glhall? You have made the decision to go to OZ, now you need people to agree with you that it is the best place to be?

Can you not get an earlier flight and put us all out of our misery?

What does a 13 year old kid know about themselves anyway???

My point was all governments have stupid rulings wherever you live.
Oh right, didn't realise that you were more familiar with the child's situation than the child herself, the state welfare department, the child's aunt, her school principal, psychiatrists, case workers, specialists in children's gender identity and the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission.

And you are I suppose....

No, but I do have a matter of opinion like everybody else. My point was not so much about the child, rather that the Governments all over the world make decisions that some people don't like! There is no point saying you don't like a country because of a ruling that the Government made.

Bit touchy arnt we Pollster. Whats youre problem? Cant handle a bit of truth about NZ maybe.

Fact is I think Poms who travel so far for a better life deserve to have it. And I dont think NZ is a good long term choice. I lived a year in London, I lived a year in Perth so I have some idea of what those places are like but I know a hell of a lot about NZ and I would not recommend it to any Pom, not for them or their kids future. Not so bad for Aussies coming here because its only a hop back home and cheap to do it.

Sure some like it here. Thats fine - Im happy for you. NZ isnt a 'bad' country but the consensus really is that Oz is better so why not go there, its that simple. there are heaps of Kiwis who want to live in Oz, its only family reasons that stop them.

I predict that the labour Govt will get in again next term - Groan. But I wont be paying their wages thats for sure.

And all said and done theres no malice on my part. Enjoy your time here Pollster - NZ isnt 3rd world (yet).

Not touchy, just bored with your seemingly inherant need to slag NZ off at every turn - shit happens in every country, good things happen in every country - every person has to decide for themselves what is for them, go to that place and live their lives as happy as they can be - not shove their opinions of the place they left behind down others' throats - especially others who have already made their decision and who are very happy with it, thank you.

I look forward to your 'We're here' post very soon - and then shall not be surprised if in a year or so you are complaining about the not so brilliant things about OZ and esposing the virtues of whatever place catches your eye next time (here's hoping Mars is an option for you by then).

Give my love to the kangeroos.

there must be something about the type of person you are that doesn't fit NZ very well.Maybe like the other thousands of people who go to other countries from here. There are however, tens of thousands of people wanting to come here and lots of kiwis and residents that love it here.I met many people when i toured around NZ for 9 months and 17000kms and did'nt meet one person you seem to portray.Regardless of your opinions of NZ and that you seem to have dug yourself and unhappy exsistance here, i would say its a great place for most people. If you never come here to try it you'll never know. One persons opinion like yours is not something that would influence anyone with the slightest bit of curiosity, they would make their own desicion based on their own experience.I'd say head to Aus and let those who want to try NZ try it....the 4 million people living here and the massive amount of that want to come here can't all be wrong.
I have to laugh about your comment on it not been 3rd world yet!Get real,go live in India's rural area for a year and then tell me if NZ is heading 3rd world....your so far off the mark, your really talking utter nonsense.

Thanks for the send off pollster. I love you too.

I havent slagged NZ at every turn - past posts prove that. And in fact alot of people agree with me anyway that Oz is better. Its good youre happy here - but not everyone is like you. Im just giving others a chance to examine their choices instead of moving to NZ then moving again to Oz

Ive been to Oz (have you?)- I know what Im going to. Im sure I will have complaints - nowhere is perfect but the people I know who are over there all say the same - they wont be coming back(to NZ)

As for the Mars comment - thats not nice is it.

Good luck
