Over the counter medicine in hand luggage

Just wondered what the rule is for carrying things like paracetemol , anihistamine and other medicines that might be needed on the journey to Australia. My eldest son gets frequent headaches when anxious and at home he takes a couple of spoons of medinol. If you cant carry them do airlines carry paracetemol for its passengers?

Here are the details on what medicines you can and can't bring directly from the Singapore government:

That's a f**ked up place. They have thrown people in jail for kissing in public, having Codeine in their bloodstream etc. I really cannot understand the desire of western people wanting to live there. Sure, a few years as an expat to make some money but to actually relocate your family to a semi-hardline muslim country? No way.

We're stopping off for a week on the way back from the UK and I always stock up on ASDA'S homebrand as they're about a quid a box as opposed to the price of a small family car that you pay here.
Can I expect to be led away in leg irons going through customs?
That's assuming the ****ing volcano stops shooting its load.

Read the list. Compare it to the ingredients in your anti-histamines - and then you'll have your answer.

. But to be honest Dubai has been really easy living and they have come along way in the last 5 years we've been here. We have some wonderful stories from this place and some very sad cases too. But you must stick within the laws if you come here, dress conservatively - be married to live together and lots more............Recent the police are cracking down on road traffic offences (money driven)- the driving was(seems to have calmed down/less on road these days) horrid - and my driving has also become horrid - its not a bad thing as I can practice better driving for Oz - see there is always a good side to things

In answer to first person - I won't take any meds on a Dubai/Abu Dhabi flight, but as you aren't heading this way you should be fine.
Lots of luck

Can you see post #5 above? See the link in it? Click on it and it takes you straight to the Singapore government website that has the list of drugs you cannot have on you.

My husband and I were SO careful going through Abu Dhabi last year...we both take valium when flying so practically OD-ed before landing there to make sure we had none of us when going through the airport. My pill was taken at the completely wrong time and I had a decongestant in my bag which went down the hatch too! Needless to say I don't remember much about being at the airport....
Then when i got home I found 4 ibuprofen hiding in a pocket in my bag anyway, nearly died!!!

Oh, and my parents in their innocence have gone through various parts of the UAE with painkillers, decongestants and WARFARIN for my dad in their luggage - no doctors letters, no clue and never had any trouble. They are bloody lucky...

Nothing with codeine in it if you are going through customs into Singapore. (Or alternatively complete all the paperwork and get a permit in advance.)
Here are the details on what medicines you can and can't bring directly from the Singapore government:

Before it was available in Singapore I also used to go back with several large boxes of nurofen. Paracetamol is certainly not a problem; they're a nation of hypochondriacs (always got "fever", lah, never a cold) who eat panadol like smarties (and doctors dish out antibiotics like them, too).
