Anyway, they have been in trouble since June 2008, when their shares dropped almost 30%.
And with almost $10 billion of debt, they had a troubled time.
However, Australia's four major banks have an exposure estimated to total less than 10% of the total debt, as most of their banking syndicate is dominated by European institutions.
