Nice !.........Does this happen in Brisbane?

There have been studies that apparently prove that most people who are succesful in business are sociapaths.... and the reason they are more succesful in business is because they don`t have a conscience and don`t mind bending people over etc to get what they want.
It`s only one step away from psychopaths.
Most serial killers and psychopaths had a history of hurting/killing animals.... it was like practice. They also don`t have much of a conscience or empathy.
So when you see a kid (I`m talking above 10 here) being cruel to a dog... possible future psycho.
Nice people generally don`t get very far in this life.....

60 - that's young for drugs/dealing compared to these two

Murders are everywhere, the Singh family murders springs to my mind straight away
Another one a few months back an elderly man killed in his own home in Brisbane - I think he was in his 80's, he was a war vet - you'll have to look at the papers yourself for the stories, I can't get into some of the newspaper sites as I'm rejecting all their cookies, the age , smh etc ( on purpose,) -
If you're into finding murder stories in the tabloids, quality papers such as the sun, plenty here too to keep you amused
just try a google for murders here in Aus, or Brisbane. Here's one for you to get you started googling away
Brisbane serial killer who's killing prostitutes ( yes we also have prostitutes here too besides murderers)

It's same the world over sorry, there are "bad" people everywhere . Tell me if you find a democratic/free country where this does not happen. I'll get my suitcases packed

. Yet they wanted to hang out with us after work. They genuinely couldn't understand that people have feelings, get hurt, hate them etc. They seem to be able to completely draw a line when it suits them. e.g. I may have called you a useless piece of shit half an hour ago in work, but we are in the pub now, so can I get in your pants. They are the worst kind of managers, absolutely no empathy,
Cheers,

Einstein and Newton give us physical laws that define the universe and yet both had mental illnesses.
As for psyche nurses.....

Seems to be a lot of references to psychopaths and mental illness here.
Has the man who was arrested been professionally assessed by a psychiatric team as having a psychopathic disorder/PD/mental illness, already?!
I doubt it.
As qualified, experienced nurses we should remain unbiased - which ever ward he may go on to, to be assessed...................

The police have already disclosed that there was no history of mental illness and he appears to have known his victim (as in the majority of murders) .

Haven't followed the case from here.So he isn't necessasarily psychopathic either.
Could have been a grudge or whatever?
It just seems the label 'psychopath' tends to be mis-used/over-used by both the media and the general public.

I'm not defending him, just think he was messed up from the start, and being given all the painkillers, morphine, speed, and god knows what, made him irrational at the end.

Oh and Cas, just to clear things up, I never claimed this bloke was a psychopath. I am perfectly aware that he may have had no 'condition' whatsoever, even to carry out this horrific act, as I have not been following his case. I was referring to Adolf Hitler and Harold Shipman, both of whom I recently learned (from one of my best lecturers) most likely had a psychopathic disorder.
Like I said, these are complex issues, and if I didn't make the above clear, I have now.

My gripe was not with specifics, but rather with generalisations.
As an experienced nurse, who has worked with client groups across the range of ages and illnesses - including those with a diagnosis of psychopathic disorder - I find the media and general publics' tendancy to label and stigmatise frustrating.
It should be the role of those us within the field of mental health to educate those who are unaware of the reality.
Cas
don't be paranoid - it can be seen as a psychotic tendency!

Reports say an axe was used in the attack but this has not been confirmed by Scotland Yard.
One man, aged in his 30s, was arrested nearby and is in custody at Holborn Police Station. The area has been sealed off for forensic examinations.
Scotland Yard said they were called to reports of a "serious assault in progress" and on arrival found the victim who was already dead.
Anything like this go on in Brisbane ?. I know there are gangs....but blimey.
No doubt a complete nutter let out on some liberal re-integration to the community scheme !.........surely not drugs related...the guy was in his 60's.

These awful crimes can happen anywhere but seem more likely where you have higher population combined with high density living and poor future economic prospects. Drugs no doubt has a lot to do with many crimes, but not all. Thing is the respect for others and valuing human life and property seems to be sadly diminishing.
