New Zeland.
We will be visiting New Zeland from Feb 25 to Mar6. We will be on an Elderhostel educational tour. We will have "free time" in Auckland,Rotorua, andChristchurch. Usualy the evening free . Ocasionaly at other times.
I am looking for sugestions as to what to do with this free time.
I like to experience the unique country and it's people rather then Fancy, American style, hotels, resturants etc. I like animals , plants, beaches, mountains etc.

Do you know about the Lonely Planet books? They give really good advice about what to see and do in NZ. Or you could try posting here http://britishexpats.com/forum/f42/ for more information.
