I have mates in Melbourne and it's Ok - they assure me that it is actually fuzzy so don't worry about the focus.

Better detail is in the maps that are darker.

For some reason, my part of SE semi-rural Melly has this extra resolutionl - better than suburbs closer to the CBD even.

I can see my house.

Brissy is particularly good.

I didn't look, but are the photos dated ? (silly me, for not looking :D )

The photos don't show our house which was moved here 12 months ago, so the Brisbane area photos are at least 12 months old

I had something done in the garden in Jan 2004, and that is shown, so, they are dated somewhere between Jan 2004 and your house move ? June/July 2004 ? (maybe ? ) :)

I've just tried google maps, it shows roads ok but not close details. I can see where suburbs in Melbourne are but thats only because I know them. I can see my house in uk on google maps fine though.
Wish I could get the download of google earth to work

If it's not working for you, try it again the next day.

Unfortunetly I don't have it at home, only have macs at home, and it's not compatible(yet).
Downloaded it at work though ( :D ), and put in all the places I've lived(about 4 in Holland, and 7 in Australia :D ) Makes a great tour.
The ones in Perth suburbs I can get houses, shed's, pools etc.
In Holland I can only get a blurry suburb.
Bridgetown in the southwest of Aus is a blur.
Bidgadanga I can see a township, tracked it down cos it's got a distinctive coast(a bay), and near Broome. Unfortunely to far to see which buildings are which...even though there's only 20 or so...
Nullagine I haven't found yet(middle of the dessert practically). I found Newman by following the trainline/highway to it, but now need to find the highway that leads out to Nullagine.
Founds some suprising things; there's a huge lake thing out near Newman, that we must've passed by closly heaps of times, but I can't remember it/hearing about it, and I can't imagine there being soooo much water out there in the desert. Must be water though, it's blue, and it's not like a map where they even make the dryed up lakes and rivers blue....

 Can someone give me some techy help pretty please?

I installed it and then when it tried to connect to the server I clicked "Do not connect" as recommended by my Norton-Antivirus and now it won't log me on.

I've uninstalled it and re-installed it but seems that by clicking do not connect the once it has scuppered my chances  and the link it's given me on the error box isn;t helping me either....

Anyone?

Please? :)

Right, I've got an absolutely ball busting animation of all the places I used to live and work. It basically bouncies in to every place, flies over the world, and into of every location, with high res photos at the end of it. Its great.... but.... How the hell do I save it.

It seems quite obvious after an hour of trying that they don't want you to save it as a mpg or wmv or mov or whatever.

Does anyone know of a screen scrapping program than can just record whats on the screen. I also have another problem in that if I run it full screen it crashes, so just to ask for the impossible... does anyone know of a screen scraping program that also lets you choose which part of the screen you save?

Start Norton, click on personal firewall. You should have the option on the right side of Norton window to configure firewall. Under programs tab, find the name of the Google earth program and change the setting to allow access.

Easy peasy
