New and from Plymouth
Hi everyone
I've been looking at this forum for a few weeks now and gathering info from you all. My husband is in the process of applying for the Australian Navy as this is the only way we can get in over 45years old and have support in getting us over to OZ. Our close friends have already gone this route and have been in OZ for nearly a year and are thoroughly enjoying the experience.
My husband has been out of the British Navy for 7 years but can still apply for the Australian Navy with his training as a marine engineer and shipwright. The Britsh Navy are very slow at sending his documentation in order to fill out forms; it has been very frustrating but we try to keep our cool.
We hope to be in Oz by September next year with our 11 year old daughter and possibly our 17 & 19 year-old sons who are in full time education at the moment. Our 17 year old is not very keen on coming and our 19 year old will need to decide whether to finish his university course or transfer to OZ. We have to weigh up all the financial and practical implications.
It's a minefield out there isn't it!
