Default add on visa{baby}

hi there,my family and i have had our p.r. visas since feb 2003,
we planned to move this year but have put it off till next year
as my wife has found out she is expecting our second child.
has anyone obtained an additional visa for a child and if so,
how long did it take and how much did it cost.we planned to
use the same consultants who got us our visas, they are charging
£500plus vat just for their fee, they said it would be roughly
£11,500 to process whole visa,is it easy to do it direct and miss
out the middle man on this occasion as it's apparently more
straight forward.
appreciate any replies.
thanks.
martin.

Congrats by the way. I certainly wouldn't use an agent :scared: it is very straightforward.

You need to download Booklet 2 from the DIMIA site which will tell you everything you need to do.

Hi Martin,

We are (or were) in exactly the same position as you - we got our visas in Feb 2003 and validated but since have had twins in the Uk who we have just been granted visas for. Don't use an agent - it is very straightforward, you just fill in a Child Migration and Child Sponsorship form and send them off with the other bits they ask for (certified copies of birth cert etc) and we got ours granted the day after they received the forms! When I had any queries on the forms I emailed the guys at the first enquiries e mail address on the DIMIA website and found they were really helpful.

Good luck!

Debbie

Hi we were also in the same position. We downloaded the forms as well but it was much cheaper to do it yourself. I think with medicals it was just short of £600 so obviously alot cheaper than an agent. Again same as above the visa came through really quick. Good luck.

Yes i have to agree with everone else, it is very straight-forward and easy to do it yourself.
We did it ourselves and to be honest if we can do it anyone can.
Had the medical done and the doctor sent off that side of things and we posted the application after seeing the doctor.
Our daughters visa grant came through one day after they had recieved it.
Must admit we were a little shocked it happened that fast.
