nasty virus going about
i know this has nothing to do with migrating but this is being found on alot of pc's
look at this to sort it out
the virus is called worm_msblast
it makes your pc shut down after a while of it being on

Think a few of us on here have had that one, see the 'spyware' thread. Pain in the arse... not knowing much about these things I've been worrying all day in case I lost everything!

no sorry i found it on my mothers pc today
but i couldnt get on the net to find out how to turn it off as it kept shutting down the pc
i didnt know it was on another thread so sorry if your reading this twice

Hubby just spent the day getting rid of this from 5 of our servers and protecting the other 60+. What a nightmare!!
Here's what you do:
Go to http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tre...n/MS03-026.asp
and download the hotfix relevant to your operating system.
Then install the hotfix and reboot your PC. When you PC comes back up go to c:\winnt\system32 and find a file called msblast.exe (delete this file and remove it from your recycle bin). Reboot your PC again and go to http://securityresponse.symantec.com...r/FixBlast.exe
and download this tool.
Run the tool and it will scan your PC.
