Was telling hubby about this thread earlier & he took great delight in telling me that Tupperware used to own our car! So we are the proud owners of a Tupperwear car?????

During our first week in our new house over here, a Betterware catalogue was left, and the Avon lady called. I have been invited to an Enjo party (better go, it's my sister's) and also a Body Shop party. No Tupperware invite as yet though!
I guess layby must be most used by those that can't get credit cards. The only time I can imagine it would be useful is at Christmas time, so that you don't have to hide all the kiddies presents, just leave them in the store till you're ready to collect them. Although that would mean last minute wrapping-up and queuing for ages probably to get them. I think "no rainchecks" means that you can't ask for the store to hold an item for you (while you nip out to the ATM for cash maybe? I dunno, maybe their refund policies aren't as relaxed as in the UK, you have to be sure you really want the item, I suppose you might ask for something to be held while you go back home to measure-up?) |
Raincheck

Now, I may have this completely wrong, I may not remember properly or my friend may have been pulling my leg. If an item is advertised at a particular price (e.g in a sale) but the store is currently out of stock, you can get a raincheck(sp?) which allows you to buy the item at a later date at the current price, even if the price has gone up. Can anyone confirm this? Chris. |
well thats what they do in tescos!:)

Yes I could imagine it could be very difficult to get AS into the mainstream malls in NZ.... even though AS is really pretty tame compared with a lot of the adult shops in NZ already (which is AS strength), I imagine there would still be opposition from the suburbs (at least until they tried it's products!).
Auckland and Wellington would be perfect though. Originally posted by steandleigh Hi jandjuk! Ann Summers are a rapidly growing company and are expanding into Euope as we speak, but simply haven't got as far as the Pacific rim ( Pardon the pun:D ) yet. As a business, they don't run as a franchise at any point normally but i thought i'd be cheeky and ask anyway. There is HUGE potential for this kind of thing in OZ and NZ - I have been doing my research (!), but it isn't without it's problems. Best wishes, leigh.:) |
