TV QUALITY - I agree!!!!!!! What the poster, said is true! TV is crap (thank goodness they get the american shows, at least). I will miss the TV!!
INTERNET - Yep...Internet ADSL is still new!! And yep...it amazes me that places like Target, KMart etc don't sell online!!!

I've been on cable access to the internet for so long I can't remember when I started. Try making allowances for a sparsely populated country. The benefit of room to move (aka minimal parking restrictions by comparison - pay and display in service station forecourts cracks me up) comes at a cost.
Greengrocer.com.au and similar has been around for years but note, they very much downplay fresh fruit and vegetables now. Why? The savvy customers know fruit barns are much better value. None of those pathetic trays outside a tiny corner shop with a few pieces of mouldy fruit rattling around in the bottom of the tray. I haven't bought computer gear in a shop for years. I'm in Sydney and buy it online from Melbourne.
Bad TV? Try SBS.
And for those tragics who like the outdoor lifestyle but need their "history" (never mind the cultural diversity in places like Sydney and Melbourne), try Backyard Blitz UK style http://www.thetopdeck.co.uk/sussex_d...Chichester.htm

True, true, but I was thinking more of Tuscany, Greece (not the typical UK tourist flodded parts), Spain, The Ice Hotel in Sweden, Prague...the list goes on.
In fact, in all fairness, and in the interests of a balanced discussion, maybe I should point out some of the GOOD things about Australia :
The people are fantastically friendly and welcoming.
Beautiful vistas and countryside
Actually being able to enjoy being outside for the majority of the year rather than the minority
You CAN find Lurpak in Woolies if you look hard enough
erm....I will think of some more, there are loads.
