My New Life in Sydney
Hello Everyone,
Its been a long time since I've posted anything on this forum. I probably think the last post of mine was the good old "GOT IT". I left India with a big heart on 17th June and landed in Sydney on the 18th.
The first couple of days were the coldest days since I've come here, spent most of the time under the sheets. Then got the Tax file number by applying online, medicare & bank account done which is quite straight forward if you are a PR.
I've been applying for jobs since then and not many good responses so far. I guess its because most employers think I dont have any selling experience in the local market (yeah I'm in to IT business development/ account management). Wife is an IT developer and the market is very good for them. She straightaway got a contract with good rates and has to work 4 days a week and mostly from home, so she seems very happy at the moment.
We are still staying at a friend's place and researching on different suburbs and should be renting a place in the next 2 weeks. Been busy doing something or the other since I came here, I still havent got the time even to think about parents in India.
It gets boring in the weekends since I dont have any friends here, and havent got many opportunities to do that. Probably once I start working should be socializing with more ppl.
I'm looking at any possible way to make some new friends here..so it doesnt get me too lonely here. Anyone game for a beer/coffee...let me know.
Cheers,
RJ

We'll definitely be up for a beer when we get there.
